Track - Wednesdays @ 18:30 - Spring hall

Race your way round spring hall 400m track like Mo Farrah, our track workouts are becoming more and more popular and have proved to improve many of our runners times.

Spring hall is a modern, floodlit facility paid for by tax payers and Stainland Lions members - we contributed £1000 towards the facility. 

Free parking & toilets.

Usually takes 90 minutes. 

£2.50 per session - please bring exact change if possible.

Head torch Runs

When the nights are drawing in we had off into the woods with our torches.


At present we have a choice of nine sessions per week including road running, hill reps, track & circuit training. The Sunday morning sessions are regularly depleted by official races and tend to be organised either by word-of-mouth or on the members-only Website Forum.



Mon 6:45pm

Heath Rugby Club, West Vale.  Usually two groups, a steady group doing 5 - 6 miles and Intermediate group 1 doing around 6 miles-  click here for map.

1885 Pub/Restaurant (was Red Lion) car park, Stainland. Average 5 -8 miles. Usually Steady and Intermediate group 1 - everyone is welcome. Just turn up and find a suitable group-  click here for map.

The Moor, Savile Park - meet across the road from The Lodge fish & chip shop.  Usually Steady and Intermediate group 2.

Track training at Spring Hall on Huddersfield Road, Halifax.


Thu 6:45pm

Heath Rugby Club, West Vale. This is the main club night. Usually all 4 groups available to cater for all abilities, especially steady runners. The best night to attend if you want to try us out.  Average 5 -8 miles.   -  click here for map.

Fri 12.30pm

Timed 5k or 3k and or 1500m at Spring Hall Athletics track, Huddersfield road, Halifax. Organised by Calderdale council.  Club members welcome.  Cost £1.60


Sat 9am

Huddersfield 5k Park Run.  A free timed run every Saturday starting at 9am in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield.  Meet next to the top coffee shop.  Print barcode for times emailed to you.  Please register online once (free). Great atmosphere and friendly mix of club runners & occasional runners. Click here for website


Sun 9am

Heath Rugby Club, West Vale. These runs are organised on an ad hoc basis, via word-of-mouth or via the member's forum and can range from 5 to 14 miles. Everyone is welcome and during the winter this can be the only time we get to run off road-  click here for map.
